1. What Data We Collect

We collect the following information:

• Location: your position, to show bookcases on the map
• Account details: name, email, and profile photo (via Google)
• Book data: information about the books you scan and track
• Bookcase data: information about bookcases you add or update, including photos (reviewed before they may appear publicly on a bookcase's page) and status
• Check-in history: where and when you visited bookcases
• Ratings and reviews: the ratings of bookcases and books you leave
• Usage analytics: how the app is used (pages opened, features used) via Google Analytics — collected only after you accept the analytics prompt, which then sets cookies. There are no ads and we never sell your data; you can decline or change your mind anytime
• Device identifier: a random identifier stored on your device, used to credit your anonymous contributions (check-ins, photos) before you sign in

2. Why We Collect It

We use this information to:

• Show bookcases and their status on the map
• Prevent duplicates when scanning
• Improve how the app works
• Build recommendations and community analytics
• Contact you about updates and issues

3. How We Protect Your Data

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
• We store only the location you choose to attach to a book or bookcase; your live location is used only to find nearby cabinets and is not tracked continuously
• You can delete your account and all related data at any time
• We never sell your data. To run the app we rely on a few trusted providers who process data on our behalf: Google (sign-in, and — only with your consent — Google Analytics) and our cloud database/storage host

4. How Long We Keep Data

• Active accounts: for as long as you use the app
• Deleted accounts: your data is removed immediately, and purged from backups within 30 days
• Logs: 90 days, for security purposes

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account
• Export your data
